DANBO adalah kependekan dari Danboard, Danbo sebenarnya diambil dari bahasa jepang “danboru”, yang berarti kardus. Danboard atau sering disebut Danbo adalah sebuah tokoh fiksi dari sebuah manga yang berjudul Yotsuba&!(dibacanya yotsubato!) yang dikarang oleh Azuma Kiyohiko. Yotsuba&! adalah serial manga komedi yang dikarang oleh Kiyohiko Azuma. Komik ini menceritakan bocah kecil yang bernama Yotsuba yang belajar tentang lingkungan di sekelilingnya yang dibimbing oleh ayah, tetangga dan teman-temannya. Yotsuba%! mempunyai arti “Yotsuba dan” yang seperti pada judul tiap chapternya, yang kebanyakan berjudul “Yotsuba dan sesuatu”. Di salah satu chapter, diceritakan kalo si Yotsuba ini pergi ke kamar kakaknya yang sedang ngerjain proyek waktu senggangnya. Nah, selanjutnya Yotsuba ini ketemu ama temen kakaknya yang sedang pake baju robot dari kardus.

Domo

Domo-kun (どーも くん) berbentuk cokelat kecil dan bertenaga raksasa. Domo Kun menetas dari telur. Suatu hari telur tersebut jatuh ke rumah Usajiii. Usajiii adalah kelinci tua bijak yang mempunyai hobby menonton TV.

Domo pun benar-benar menyukai TV seperti Usajiii dan juga menikmati goyang Guitar Wolf. Makanan fovorit Domo adalah Seasoned, daging sapi dengan kentang.

Domo-kun adalah maskot NHK BS2 (saluran satelit, ia juga muncul pada BS1). NHK memproduksi serangkaian Domo-ku sebagai animasi yang memancarkan pesona dan kehangatan pribadi.

“Domo” memiliki arti sesuatu (biasanya untuk menekankan “terima kasih,” “maafkan aku,” dll), menyiratkan kesopanan. “kun” digunakan sebagai “Mr” atau “Ms” untuk “orang-orang yang lebih muda atau kolega.” Ia memperoleh namanya di episode kedua, ketika Usajii menyalakan TV untuknya dan seorang penyiar mengatakan “Domo konnichiwa” ( “sangat banyak halo”).
